Until 8 June SUMMER BY THE RIVER: Now in full swing, Summer by the River is a programme of free entertainment taking place on the south side of the Thames, between London Bridge and Tower Bridge. ALL ABOARD FOR FREE VINTAGE BUS RIDES THIS JUNE: London Bus Museum's semi-regular heritage day returns on Sunday 8 June 2025, when buses dating from the 1950s-70s ply the 418 route between Epsom and Kingston.Simply show up at a bus stop along the contemporary 418 route between 10am and 5pm, and soon enough an RT-Type or original Routemaster will scoop you up. Some services will even have a conductor on board, handing out facsimile tickets. (Just be aware that if you board a modern TfL service on the route that day, you'll need to tap in and pay a fare.) London Bus Museum Route 418 Heritage Day, Saturday 8 June 2025, approx 10am-5pm, free. GIUSEPPE PENONE: Sculptures and works from 1969 to today by Italian artist Guiseppe Penone go on display at Serpentine South Gallery, extending beyond the gallery into the surrounding park too. Penone is a leading figure in the Arte Povera movement which celebrates the simplicity of natural materials and artistic techniques, and the works on display here showcase the relationship between humans and the natural world. FREE, Until -7 September LIFE SIZED ANIMAL PUPPETS ACROSS LONDON: Life-sized animal puppets that have been stampeding through cities across Africa will make their way to London next month.
