Private Ghost Tour of Hampton Court Palace
Get into the spirit of Halloween by joining us for an evening exploring the haunted history of Hampton Court Palace! This SJWWC private ghost tour will begin after the palace is closed to the public, leading you through darkened corridors and historic courtyards, where ghostly legends and royal tragedies linger.
Our expert guide will share chilling tales of some of the palace’s most famous—and infamous—residents, including: Catherine Howard, Henry VIII’s ill-fated fifth wife, Jane Seymour, Henry’s beloved third wife, Sybil Penn, the “Grey Lady,” and King Henry VIII himself, whose formidable presence and turbulent reign left a lasting impression—both in history and, some believe, in spirit.
This after-hours experience offers a rare chance to see the palace in near silence, where the echoes of the past come chillingly to life.
We will meet at Waterloo Station (national rail section) at 4:15 PM and take the SWR train to Hampton Court station. Hampton Court Station is in zone 6. Oyster/credit cards are accepted on this route and you can just tap in and out like an underground journey.
We'll arrive at 5:15 pm to Hampton Court station and take a short walk to the Muted Swan pub for a "spirit" or two before we start our tour across the street at the palace at 6:30 for a 90 minute tour. The tour will take us inside and outside across the palace grounds so please dress in weather appropriate attire and comfortable shoes.
Post-tour, attendees have the option of popping back to the pub for a nightcap or heading to the train station where trains run back to Waterloo station every 30 minutes.
Please dress weather appropriate for an indoor and outdoor tour. The price of the trip does not include your journey from Waterloo to Hampton Court station (you can just tap in and out like an underground journey). Consider having a hearty snack before heading out as there will be limited time at the pub before the we head to the palace and will not be done until about 8:15 PM
